A deliciously layered taco casserole that combines the flavors of classic tacos with a comforting baked twist, perfect for a family dinner.
Ingredients
1 package crescent roll dough
1 pound ground beef
1 packet taco seasoning
1 cup sour cream
2 cups shredded cheese
1 cup tortilla chips
Method
Gather all your ingredients and preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Lay out the crescent roll dough and press it into the bottom of a 9-inch square baking dish, then bake as per the package directions.
In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat for about 5 to 7 minutes, breaking it apart as it cooks. Stir in your preferred taco seasoning until well combined.
Once the crust is ready, layer the seasoned beef on top. Add a layer of sour cream, followed by a hearty sprinkle of shredded cheese. Top everything off with crushed tortilla chips for extra crunch.
Place the casserole back into the oven and bake for another 10 minutes, or until the cheese has melted and turned a lovely golden brown.
Cut into squares and serve hot, adding fresh toppings as you like.
