Delight in the refreshing taste of these citrusy lemon bars, featuring a buttery crust and a smooth, tangy lemon filling that is perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup softened butter
1.5 cups granulated sugar
3 large eggs
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
Method
Gather all the necessary ingredients and set them out on your kitchen counter.
Preheat your oven to a warm 350°F (175°C).
In a medium bowl, combine 2 cups of all-purpose flour, softened butter, and 1/2 cup of granulated sugar, mixing until the blend is smooth and creamy.
Press the crust mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish that is not greased.
Bake the crust in the preheated oven for approximately 15 minutes, or until it is firm and has a beautiful golden hue.
While the crust bakes, prepare the lemon filling by whisking together 1 1/2 cups of sugar and 1/4 cup of flour in a separate bowl. Then, add eggs and freshly squeezed lemon juice, whisking until the mixture is entirely smooth.
Once the crust is baked, gently pour the lemon filling over the warm crust.
Return the baking dish to the oven and bake for an additional 20 minutes. Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan, as they will continue to set during this time.
After cooling, cut the bars into squares to serve.
