This zesty Thai grilled beef strips recipe features marinated flank steak that is tender, flavorful, and quick to prepare, perfect for a delicious main dish.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound flank steak
  • 2 tablespoons coriander
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger

Method

  1. Place the flank steak in the freezer for 20 minutes to firm it up for easier slicing.
  2. In a bowl, mix together coriander, brown sugar, soy sauce, lime juice, minced garlic, and ground ginger. Whisk the ingredients until you have a smooth marinade.
  3. Take the steak out of the freezer and slice it thinly against the grain. Place the slices in a large bowl and pour the marinade over them, tossing to coat every piece evenly. Cover and let it sit at room temperature for one hour.
  4. Adjust your oven rack to about 6 inches from the broiler and preheat the oven. For easier cleanup, line the bottom of the broiler pan with aluminum foil.
  5. Lay the marinated beef strips in a single layer on the rack of the broiler pan.
  6. Broil the beef for 1 to 2 minutes, basting with the marinade occasionally, until it reaches your desired doneness, preferably medium rare.
