Delicious grilled shrimp skewers glazed with a homemade teriyaki sauce, perfect for a summer barbecue.
Ingredients
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup pineapple juice
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon Sriracha
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 pound shrimp
Method
In a mixing bowl, whisk together soy sauce, pineapple juice, brown sugar, Sriracha, sesame oil, and garlic powder until the mixture is well combined.
Transfer the sauce to a small saucepan and heat it over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly, which should take around 10 minutes.
Place the shrimp in a shallow dish and pour about three-quarters of the teriyaki sauce over them, letting them marinate for 30 minutes; reserve the remaining sauce for later use.
Preheat your grill to a medium-high temperature and lightly oil the grates to prevent sticking. Thread the marinated shrimp onto skewers.
Grill the skewers for 3 minutes, then flip them over, brush with the reserved teriyaki sauce, and cook for an additional 3 minutes until the shrimp are fully cooked.
