A delightful and tangy sauce made from tamarind and dates, perfect for drizzling over dishes or using as a dip.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup tamarind pulp
  • 1/2 cup chopped dates
  • 1/4 cup dried apricots
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • to taste salt

Method

  1. Combine tamarind pulp, diced dates, dried apricots, sugar, black pepper, and salt in a blender and blend until you achieve a smooth paste.
  2. Slowly incorporate water into the blender and blend once more until the mixture is smooth and pourable.
  3. Pour the tamarind mixture into a saucepan and warm it over medium heat for approximately 5 to 6 minutes, skimming off any foam that forms.
  4. You can serve the glaze warm or let it cool down before using it.
