This delicious Syrian-style flatbread is perfect for dipping or enjoying alongside your favorite dishes. It's easy to make in a bread machine and bakes up beautifully in a hot oven.
Ingredients
4 cups all-purpose flour
1.5 cups water
2 teaspoons yeast
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons olive oil
Method
Start by placing the ingredients in your bread machine following the order recommended by the manufacturer, then set it to the Dough cycle.
While the dough is mixing, preheat your oven to a high setting of 475°F (245°C).
When the dough is finished, transfer it to a floured surface. Divide it into eight equal pieces and shape them into small balls. Cover the balls with a damp cloth to let them rest for a short while.
Roll each ball into thin circles, aiming for a diameter of roughly 8 inches. Place two circles on hot baking sheets or a baking stone, and bake them until they puff up and turn a beautiful golden brown, which should take about 5 minutes. Repeat the process with the remaining dough.
