Ingredients

  • 1 whole pie crust
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup nuts
  • 1 cup apple juice
  • 2 whole bananas
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 cup strawberries
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar

Method

  1. Start by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C). Prepare a 9-inch pie dish by lining it with your favorite pie crust.
  2. In a food processor, mix together softened butter, brown sugar, all-purpose flour, a dash of cinnamon, a hint of nutmeg, and your selected nuts. Pulse until the blend resembles coarse crumbs. Chill this crumble topping in the refrigerator until you're ready to use it.
  3. In a medium saucepan over medium-low heat, pour in some apple juice and add in sliced bananas along with honey. Stir until the honey completely dissolves. Then, mix in chopped strawberries and granulated sugar, letting the mixture simmer uncovered for about 20 minutes.
  4. Once the fruit mixture is warmed through, pour it into the prepared pie crust, spreading it out evenly. Top with the chilled crumble mixture.
  5. Bake the pie in the preheated oven for around 20 minutes, or until the crumble topping turns golden brown and the filling has set. Allow the pie to cool on a wire rack for 30 minutes before slicing and enjoying.
