These spicy Thai-style chicken wings are coated in a flavorful blend of sauces and spices, perfect for a party or game day.
Ingredients
2 pounds chicken wings
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 stick butter
1/4 cup hot pepper sauce
2 tablespoons chile-garlic sauce
1 tablespoon Thai red chile paste
1/4 cup sweet Asian chile sauce
2 tablespoons honey
enough as needed oil for frying
Method
Begin by placing the chicken wings in a large bowl and dusting them evenly with flour. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it chill in the refrigerator for 1 to 1.5 hours to help the coating adhere.
Heat oil in a deep-fryer or a large pot to a temperature of 375°F (190°C) for frying the wings.
In a small saucepan, mix together butter, hot pepper sauce, chile-garlic sauce, Thai red chile paste, sweet Asian chile sauce, and honey. Gently heat this mixture over low heat, stirring occasionally, until the butter has melted and everything is well combined, which should take about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
Carefully place the chicken wings into the hot oil and fry them until they are golden brown and cooked through, approximately 10 to 15 minutes. Once done, transfer the wings to a serving platter.
Drizzle the prepared spicy sauce generously over the chicken wings and toss them lightly to ensure they are evenly coated.
