These spicy air-fried butternut squash fries are a deliciously crispy treat that packs a flavorful punch, perfect for snacking or as a side dish.


Ingredients

  • 1 medium butternut squash
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 teaspoon five-spice seasoning
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • to taste none sea salt
  • to taste none black pepper

Method

  1. Start by setting your air fryer to a temperature of 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, toss together the cubed butternut squash with a splash of oil, aromatic five-spice powder, crushed garlic, sea salt, and freshly ground black pepper until everything is thoroughly coated.
  3. Place the seasoned butternut squash into the air fryer basket in a single layer.
  4. Cook the squash for 15 to 20 minutes, gently shaking the basket every 5 minutes to ensure they cook evenly. Once they are golden and crispy, remove them from the fryer and add a pinch of sea salt to taste.
