Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 pound ground beef

  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 6 ounces tomato paste
  • 1 cup water
  • 12 ounces spaghetti

Method

  1. Heat a generous splash of oil in a skillet over medium heat, then add chopped onions and sauté them until they become translucent.
  2. Introduce ground beef to the skillet and cook until it achieves a rich, brown color. Season with a pinch of salt and a dash of turmeric for added flavor.
  3. In a bowl, blend tomato paste with water to form a smooth sauce, then incorporate it into the beef mixture. Allow it to simmer gently for around 30 minutes.
  4. Simultaneously, bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil and cook the spaghetti according to the package's guidelines. Once cooked, drain the pasta well.
  5. In a spacious pot, combine the beef sauce with the drained spaghetti. Cover the pot and let them meld together over medium heat for another 30 to 40 minutes.
