This hearty Texas beef stew is packed with flavor and perfect for a cozy dinner. It's a delightful combination of beef, sausage, and vegetables, simmered to perfection.
Ingredients
1 pound ground beef
1 pound sausage
1 medium onion
3 cloves garlic
4 cups water
1 cup corn
1 cup pinto beans
1 can diced tomatoes
1 can tomatoes with chili
1 cup mixed vegetables
2 medium potatoes
1 teaspoon cumin
2 teaspoons chili powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Method
Gather all the ingredients needed for the stew.
In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until it's browned but still slightly underdone, about 5 minutes. Add the sausage, chopped onion, and minced garlic, cooking until the meat is fully browned and the onion becomes translucent, around 5 to 7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
Transfer the cooked meat mixture into a spacious pot set over medium-low heat. Add water along with corn, pinto beans, chopped tomatoes, tomatoes with chili, and mixed vegetables. Stir in diced potatoes, cumin, chili powder, salt, and black pepper.
Cover the pot and let the stew simmer, stirring occasionally. Allow it to cook for a minimum of 1 hour; the longer it simmers, the more the flavors will deepen.
