Deliciously stuffed pasta shells filled with a savory mixture of ground turkey, fresh spinach, and creamy cheeses, topped with a rich spaghetti sauce and melted mozzarella.
Ingredients
12 pieces pasta shells
1 cup mushrooms
2 cloves garlic
1 medium onion
1 pound ground turkey
2 cups fresh spinach
1/4 cup parsley
1 cup cottage cheese
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
2 cups spaghetti sauce
1 cup mozzarella cheese
Method
Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large pot, bring lightly salted water to a boil. Add the pasta shells and cook for about 8 to 10 minutes until they reach an al dente texture. Drain and set aside in a warm pot.
In a spacious skillet, sauté chopped mushrooms, minced garlic, and diced onions until they release their aroma. Incorporate ground turkey and continue cooking until it’s nicely browned. Season with salt and pepper to your liking.
Take the skillet off the heat and fold in fresh spinach, chopped parsley, cottage cheese, and grated Parmesan cheese until everything is well mixed.
Carefully stuff each cooked shell with the turkey and cheese filling, then place them in a 9x13 inch baking dish.
Pour a generous amount of spaghetti sauce over the stuffed shells, and finish by sprinkling mozzarella cheese on top.
Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 45 minutes, or until the dish is heated through and bubble forms.
