This Delectable Oyster Bread Bake is a savory blend of fresh oysters and herbs, perfectly baked to create a golden and crispy topping, making it a delightful side dish or main course.
Ingredients
4 tablespoons butter
1 medium, chopped onions
4 cups bread crumbs
1 cup, chopped fresh oysters
1/4 cup oyster liquor
1 cup, diced celery
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon thyme
1 teaspoon poultry seasoning
Method
Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.
In a Dutch oven or a large pot, melt some butter over medium-high heat. Add chopped onions and sauté until they are soft and translucent, about 5 minutes. Remove the pot from heat once done.
Stir in the bread crumbs, fresh oysters along with their liquor, diced celery, salt, black pepper, thyme, and poultry seasoning until everything is evenly mixed. Transfer this flavorful mixture into the greased baking pan and cover it tightly with aluminum foil.
Bake the covered dish in the preheated oven for 40 minutes. Afterward, carefully peel back the foil and continue baking for an extra 20 minutes or until the top achieves a lovely golden brown color.
