Delightful cabbage rolls filled with a savory beef and rice mixture, baked in a delicious sauce.


Ingredients

  • 1 head whole cabbage
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper
  • 1 can soup
  • 0.5 can water

Method

  1. Start by freezing a whole head of cabbage overnight. Once it's frozen, let it thaw and gently peel off the leaves.
  2. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, a whisked egg, finely chopped onion, cooked rice, and season with salt and pepper. Blend everything well.
  4. Take a small amount of the meat mixture, shape it into a ball or log, and place it in the center of a cabbage leaf.
  5. Fold the sides of the leaf over the filling and roll it up tightly, ensuring the seam side is down in a baking dish. Continue this process until all the filling is used.
  6. In another bowl, mix a can of your favorite soup with half a can of water, then pour this sauce over the arranged cabbage rolls.
  7. Bake the rolls uncovered for 1 hour at 350°F (175°C), basting them with the sauce from time to time.
