Delightful cabbage rolls filled with a savory beef and rice mixture, baked in a delicious sauce.
Ingredients
1 head whole cabbage
1 pound ground beef
1 large egg
1 medium onion
1 cup cooked rice
to taste salt
to taste pepper
1 can soup
0.5 can water
Method
Start by freezing a whole head of cabbage overnight. Once it's frozen, let it thaw and gently peel off the leaves.
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, a whisked egg, finely chopped onion, cooked rice, and season with salt and pepper. Blend everything well.
Take a small amount of the meat mixture, shape it into a ball or log, and place it in the center of a cabbage leaf.
Fold the sides of the leaf over the filling and roll it up tightly, ensuring the seam side is down in a baking dish. Continue this process until all the filling is used.
In another bowl, mix a can of your favorite soup with half a can of water, then pour this sauce over the arranged cabbage rolls.
Bake the rolls uncovered for 1 hour at 350°F (175°C), basting them with the sauce from time to time.
