Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • 6 slices bacon
  • 4 pieces sausage patties
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 pieces eggs

Method

  1. Begin by preheating your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together flour, grated Cheddar cheese, chopped parsley, baking powder, garlic powder, and salt until well combined. Gradually add milk and shortening, using a fork or pastry cutter to mix until the dough resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. On a floured surface, shape the dough into a square approximately 8 inches wide. Cut this square into four equal pieces and arrange them on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Bake the biscuits for 15 to 20 minutes, or until they achieve a golden brown color.
  5. While the biscuits are baking, heat a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat and cook the bacon until it reaches a crispy texture, around 5 minutes. Transfer the bacon to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess fat. In the same skillet, cook the sausage patties until they are fully cooked through, approximately 5 minutes, and set them aside.
  6. Add a splash of olive oil to the skillet and cook the eggs to your liking, whether fried or scrambled.
  7. Once the biscuits are finished baking, slice them open horizontally. Create your breakfast stack by placing a fried egg on the bottom half, topping it with a slice of Cheddar cheese, crispy bacon, and a sausage patty. Cap it off with the top half of the biscuit.
