This sugar-free BBQ sauce is a flavorful alternative that packs a punch without the calories. Perfect for slathering on grilled meats or as a dipping sauce.
Ingredients
2 tablespoons oil
1 medium onion
2 cubes beef bouillon cubes
1 cup water
1 cup tomato paste
1/4 cup sucralose sweetener
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon liquid smoke
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
1 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
Method
Heat a large saucepan over medium flame and add oil, then sauté the diced onion until it turns translucent, which should take about 5 minutes.
In a small bowl, mix the beef bouillon cubes with warm water until they soften and dissolve, then pour this mixture into the saucepan.
Stir the mixture occasionally and allow it to come to a gentle simmer to ensure the bouillon fully dissolves.
Add tomato paste, sucralose sweetener, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, liquid smoke, salt, apple cider vinegar, and hot pepper sauce, mixing well until the sweetener has blended in completely.
Reduce the heat and let the sauce simmer for 25 to 30 minutes, stirring every so often to allow the flavors to develop.
For the best flavor, cover the sauce and refrigerate it overnight. This delicious barbecue sauce can be kept in the fridge for up to a week.
