These hearty stuffed peppers are filled with a savory mixture of ground beef and rice, topped with a rich tomato sauce that creates a comforting and flavorful meal.
Ingredients
4 pieces Bell Peppers
1 pound Ground Beef
1 cup Rice
2 cups Water
1 cup Tomato Sauce
1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
1 teaspoon Onion Powder
to taste none Salt
to taste none Pepper
1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning
1 tablespoon Cooking Oil
Method
Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C) and assembling all required ingredients.
In a medium saucepan, add water and rice, bringing the mixture to a boil. Reduce the heat and allow it to simmer until the rice is fully cooked and soft, roughly 20 minutes.
While the rice is cooking, heat a drizzle of oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and sauté until it's browned and crumbly, which should take about 7 to 9 minutes.
Prepare the bell peppers by slicing off their tops and removing the seeds and membranes. If necessary, trim a bit from the base so they can stand firmly.
Arrange the cleaned peppers in a baking dish with their open tops facing upwards.
In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked beef, rice, half of the tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Spoon this filling into each pepper evenly.
In another bowl, stir together the remaining tomato sauce with Italian seasoning and pour this blend over the stuffed peppers.
Bake the peppers in the warmed oven, basting them with the sauce every 15 minutes, until they’re tender, which will take about 1 hour.
Once cooked, serve the stuffed peppers while hot and savor this comforting meal!
