This fiery Szechuan beef stir-fry is a vibrant and flavorful dish that combines tender beef with crisp vegetables, all tossed in a spicy sauce that will tantalize your taste buds.
Ingredients
3 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon cornstarch
2 teaspoons minced garlic
1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1 pound beef slices
1 cup broccoli
1 medium sliced onions
1 can diced water chestnuts
1 cup broth
1/2 cup roasted peanuts
as needed for cooking oil
Method
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together soy sauce, cornstarch, minced garlic, and a pinch of crushed red pepper flakes. Add the beef strips and stir until they are thoroughly coated. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it sit in the refrigerator for 20 minutes to marinate.
Heat a generous amount of oil in a wok or a large skillet over high heat until it shimmers. Carefully add the marinated beef and stir-fry for around 5 minutes, or until the beef is nicely browned and fully cooked.
Introduce chopped broccoli, sliced onions, and diced water chestnuts to the skillet. Stir the mixture and cook for an additional 2 minutes, ensuring the vegetables remain tender but still crisp.
Pour in the broth and bring the mixture to a vigorous boil. Then, add in roasted peanuts and allow it to cook for another minute before taking it off the heat. Serve hot and savor the bold flavors.
