This spicy mango-habanero sauce combines the sweetness of ripe mangoes and peaches with the fiery kick of habanero peppers, creating a perfect balance of flavor for any dish.


Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 medium onion
  • 2 large ripe mangoes
  • 1 medium peach
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 medium habanero peppers
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon allspice
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup white vinegar
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar

Method

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium flame. Add diced onion and sauté for about 5 minutes until it turns soft and translucent.
  2. In a food processor, combine the sautéed onion with ripe mangoes, a juicy peach, honey, and chopped habanero peppers. Blend until the mixture is smooth.
  3. Mix in mustard, salt, paprika, white pepper, cumin, and allspice, along with brown sugar, and blend again until fully combined.
  4. Pour the mango-habanero mixture into a large saucepan. Bring it to a vigorous boil.
  5. Slowly add white vinegar and apple cider vinegar, stirring to combine. Continue boiling the sauce for 10 to 12 minutes, or until it reaches your desired thickness.
  6. Once done, carefully transfer the hot sauce into jars or containers for future use.
