These savory Swedish meatballs are baked to perfection and drenched in a creamy sauce, making them a hearty and comforting dish that’s perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
1 pound Ground Beef
1 pound Ground Pork
1 medium Onion
1 cup Breadcrumbs
1 large Egg
1/4 cup Milk
2 tablespoons Parsley
1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
2 teaspoons Salt
2 teaspoons Pepper
2 tablespoons Oil
1 tablespoon Flour
1 teaspoon Paprika
1 cup Hot Water
1 cup Sour Cream
Method
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly oil a 9x13 inch baking dish.
In a large bowl, combine ground beef and ground pork with finely chopped onion, breadcrumbs, an egg, and milk. Season with parsley, Worcestershire sauce, two teaspoons of salt, and one teaspoon of pepper. Mix well using your hands.
Form the mixture into small balls, roughly the size of walnuts, and place them in the greased baking dish.
Bake the meatballs for 30 minutes, turning them periodically for even browning.
While the meatballs bake, heat oil in a saucepan. Whisk in flour, paprika, one tablespoon of salt, and one teaspoon of pepper, cooking over medium heat until it bubbles.
Slowly add hot water and sour cream, stirring to create a smooth and warm sauce.
Once the meatballs have cooked for 30 minutes, pour the creamy sauce over them and return to the oven for an extra 20 minutes, stirring occasionally to ensure they are well-coated.
