A deliciously crispy southern fried chicken dish, perfect for any dinner gathering. This recipe features tender chicken coated in a flavorful breading, creating a crispy and golden exterior.
Ingredients
2 large eggs
1 cup milk
to taste teaspoon salt
to taste teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
2 pounds chicken pieces
2 cups flour
for frying as needed oil
Method
In a medium-sized bowl, combine the eggs with milk and most of the seasonings: salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Set aside a pinch of each for later.
Take the chicken pieces and generously sprinkle them with the remaining seasonings on both sides.
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Place flour in a resealable bag. Dip each piece of chicken into the egg mixture, then transfer it to the bag with flour. Shake to ensure an even coating.
To verify the oil is hot enough, drop a little flour into the skillet; it should sizzle. Carefully add the coated chicken pieces into the oil. Fry for about 5 minutes before flipping. Continue cooking for around 15 minutes, or until the chicken is a beautiful golden brown and fully cooked.
Plate your crispy fried chicken and savor the deliciousness!
