This Savory Beef Stroganoff Feast combines tender beef strips with a rich and creamy mushroom gravy, perfect for serving over noodles or rice for a comforting meal.
Ingredients
1 pound beef strips
1/4 cup flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoons butter
1 cup water
1 medium onion
2 cloves garlic
8 ounces sliced mushrooms
1 can condensed cream of mushroom soup
1 cup sour cream
Method
In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and pepper. Dredge the beef strips in this seasoned blend until evenly coated.
Heat a generous amount of butter in a medium-sized saucepan over medium heat. Add the seasoned beef strips and sauté until they develop a deep golden brown color, approximately 10 minutes. Once browned, use a slotted spoon to transfer the beef to a covered dish and set aside, keeping the pan as is.
In the same saucepan, add water, chopped onions, and minced garlic. Stir the mixture and cook over medium heat, scraping the tasty browned bits from the bottom of the pan for about 5 minutes. Incorporate the sliced mushrooms and the condensed soup, then continue to cook until the mushrooms are tender, which should take around 20 minutes.
Return the browned beef to the pot with the simmering gravy and heat gently over medium heat until everything is warmed through, around 5 minutes. Right before serving, stir in the sour cream to achieve a luscious creamy consistency.
