Ingredients
1 box chocolate cake mix
1/2 cup softened butter
8 oz cream cheese
1 cup frosting
3 large eggs
6 drops green food coloring
1 teaspoon creme de menthe flavoring
2 cups chocolate and mint morsels
Method
Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
In a large bowl, mix the cake mix and softened butter with an electric mixer on low speed until crumbly, about 3 to 5 minutes. Reserve one cup of this crumb blend for later use.
Firmly press the remaining crumb mixture into the bottom of an ungreased 9x13 inch baking dish.
Bake the crust for about 10 minutes until the edges turn a light golden brown, then remove from the oven and let it cool slightly.
In another bowl, beat together the cream cheese and frosting with an electric mixer on medium speed until smooth, roughly 3 to 5 minutes.

Sprinkle the reserved crumb mixture evenly on top of the cheesecake layer.
Add 1 cup of chocolate and mint chips on top, setting aside some for later decoration.
Return the baking dish to the oven and bake for 42 to 45 minutes, or until the center is set.
After baking, allow the dish to cool completely.
Cover the cooled dessert and refrigerate for at least 2 hours until fully chilled.
For the topping, melt the remaining chocolate and mint chips in a microwave-safe bowl, heating in 45-second intervals and stirring until smooth.
