Ingredients

  • 1 medium cake
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 cups strawberry ice cream
  • 2 cups whipped cream

Method

  1. Slice the cake into three equal layers and place them in the freezer for about 30 to 45 minutes to firm up.
  2. In a bowl, mix fresh strawberries with sugar and let them sit for 10 minutes to draw out their juices. Set aside 1 cup of these strawberries for later use.
  3. Prepare a loaf pan by lining it with plastic wrap to create an easy release. Place the first cake layer at the bottom of the pan and spread a layer of strawberry ice cream over it.
  4. Add a layer of the macerated strawberries on top of the ice cream, followed by a thick layer of whipped cream. Repeat this layering process with the remaining cake layers, ensuring an even distribution of ice cream, strawberries, and whipped cream throughout.
  5. Once all layers are stacked, cover the pan and freeze the cake for about 4 hours or until it is completely set.
  6. To serve, gently lift the cake out of the loaf pan using the plastic wrap, slice it into portions, and garnish with the reserved strawberries and a dollop of whipped cream.
