A delicious twist on traditional kielbasa, stuffed with tangy sauerkraut, creamy mashed potatoes, and melted cheese for a comforting meal.
Ingredients
1 pound kielbasa
1 cup sauerkraut
2 cups mashed potatoes
1 cup grated cheese
Method
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Boil a large pot of water and gently add the kielbasa. Cook for 8 to 10 minutes to help eliminate some fat, then drain.
Prepare the mashed potatoes according to the package instructions until they reach a creamy consistency.
Once the kielbasa has cooled slightly, cut it into four equal pieces and make a lengthwise slit in each, keeping them attached at one end. Open them up like a book.
Generously fill each opened kielbasa with sauerkraut, then add a generous scoop of mashed potatoes. Top with a sprinkle of grated cheese.
Arrange the stuffed kielbasa on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the filling is hot and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
