These Berry Bliss Crescent Puffs are deliciously sweet rolls filled with a luscious strawberry mixture and topped with whipped cream, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
2.5 cups fresh strawberries
3 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 package crescent dough
2 teaspoons heavy cream
0.5 cups whipped cream
Method
Begin by preheating your oven to 325°F (165°C) and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a blender, mix 1/2 cup of fresh strawberries with a dash of water until you achieve a smooth puree.
In a saucepan, combine 3 tablespoons of sugar with cornstarch. Slowly add the strawberry puree and cook over medium heat, stirring regularly until the mixture thickens, which will take about 5 minutes. Stir in the remaining 2 cups of strawberries and a squeeze of lemon juice, then set aside.
Unroll the crescent dough carefully. Layer one crescent roll on top of another, then roll them up from the small end to create 4 double rolls. Brush each roll with 1/2 teaspoon of heavy cream and sprinkle 1/2 teaspoon of sugar on top.
Place the rolls in the oven and bake until they are golden brown, approximately 20 to 25 minutes. After baking, move them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Once cooled, cut each roll in half horizontally. Fill them generously with the strawberry mixture, add 1/2 cup of whipped cream, and place the tops back on. For an added delight, drizzle more strawberry sauce over the rolls before serving.
