Ingredients

  • 1 cup grams sugar
  • 1/2 cup milliliters water
  • 2 tablespoons grams cornstarch
  • 4 cups grams fresh strawberries
  • 1 cup grams flour
  • 1 tablespoon grams baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon grams salt
  • 1/2 cup grams butter
  • 2 pieces eggs
  • 1 teaspoon grams vanilla extract

Method

  1. Start by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a saucepan, combine sugar, water, and cornstarch. Heat the mixture over medium heat while stirring constantly until it thickens, which should take around 5 minutes. Once thickened, take it off the heat and gently mix in the fresh strawberries. Pour this fruity mixture into a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, and salt, and set it aside.
  4. In another bowl, use an electric mixer to beat the butter and sugar until it's light and fluffy. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing thoroughly. Gradually fold in the reserved flour mixture using a spatula until just combined. Spoon rounded tablespoons of the batter over the strawberry layer, trying to cover the fruit as much as possible.
  5. Bake the dish in the preheated oven for 35 to 40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the filling is bubbling. To test if it's done, insert a toothpick into the topping; it should come out clean. Once baked, let the cobbler cool for a few minutes before serving it warm or at room temperature.
