  • 400 grams passata
  • 10 leaves fresh basil
  • to taste salt

Method

  1. Begin by assembling all the essential ingredients for your marinara sauce.
  2. In a medium saucepan, heat olive oil on low flame. Introduce finely diced onion and crushed garlic, sautéing them until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the tomato puree, toss in fresh basil leaves, and season with a dash of salt. Cover the pot and allow the mixture to simmer on medium heat, stirring occasionally, until it reaches a thicker consistency, roughly 20 minutes.
  4. Prior to serving, be sure to take out the garlic pieces from the sauce.
