Ingredients
3 pounds short ribs
to taste none salt
to taste none black pepper
1 cup water
1/2 cup fruit preserves
1/4 cup chili sauce
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons rice wine vinegar
2 tablespoons honey
1 packet onion soup mix
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ginger
Method
Begin by generously seasoning the short ribs with salt and black pepper, then place them into the slow cooker.
In a sealed jar, combine water, fruit preserves, chili sauce, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, rice wine vinegar, honey, onion soup mix, red pepper flakes, onion powder, garlic powder, cinnamon, and ginger. Secure the lid and shake vigorously to blend all the ingredients.
Pour the flavorful sauce over the short ribs, ensuring they are evenly coated.
Set the slow cooker to the Low setting and cook for 6 to 9 hours, or switch to High for a faster option of 3 to 6 hours, until the meat is tender and easily shreds with a fork.
